meet Pamela butler
Pamela Butler (Founder and President Emerita) founded Loudoun Lyric Opera with two
colleagues in 2007. She led the organization for the next 15 years before transitioning
to our Advisory Board. A graduate of LeMoyne College and the Metropolitan School for
the Arts, she followed a dual career path as a performer and regional arts leader before
returning to pursue her master’s degree in arts management at George Mason
University. Praised in the Washington Post for her “special sparkle,” she has sung over
35 opera roles and made numerous vocal appearances in three countries, six US states
and Washington DC. In addition to her work with LLO, Ms. Butler has also brought
years of business and non-profit management experience to the arts in Northern
Virginia as a founder, board member and advisor to several organizations, including the
Loudoun Arts Council, Virginia Commission for the Arts, Leesburg Commission on
Public Art, Friends of Leesburg Public Art, and the Leesburg Arts & Cultural District
Task Force. She currently serves as Music Director for St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church
and on the Leesburg Performing Arts Commission.
